Rail is more than just a mode of transport – it is a strategic factor for the logistics of tomorrow. On Rail Day ("Tag der Schiene") on September 19, we are providing a preview of a project currently being planned at BHS Global Logistics:
We are building our own combined transport terminal in Weiherhammer – with a direct rail connection for freight transport to Nuremberg and on to Europe's seaports.
The difference to today's solution:
We currently transport packaged goods to Nuremberg by truck. In the future, the train will depart directly from our premises.
- Reduced CO₂ emissions
- Fewer handling errors and transport risks
- Independence from the shortage of truck drivers
- A central point of contact for the entire transport chain
Rail is not only a symbol of change – it is a real lever for resilient, efficient, and green logistics.
