Following an invitation by Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Ulrich Müller, Managing Director Alexander Walberer spoke about the logistics center of BHS Global Logistics at OTH Amberg-Weiden (Technical University of Applied Sciences Amberg-Weiden). As part of the »Factory Planning« lecture, he showed the students of the »International Technology Management« course (specialization: Digital Production & Logistics) which aspects are of outstanding importance in the planning & realization of a property of this size (38 million EUR investment volume).
Thus, after a brief introduction of the company, he addressed the following topics, among others:
- Challenges & background as well as objectives for the planning of the new logistics center
- Site planning (e.g. planning of quantity frameworks and determination of the required hall area)
At the same time, Alexander Walberer emphasized to the students the importance of detailed and binding planning (also for the cooperation with the project partners), which has already taken place many months before the official groundbreaking. Keywords such as »building permit« and »contracting« were mentioned here.
After the presentation, the students had the opportunity to ask questions before they were allowed to return to their own project work on factory planning after the break. On behalf of BHS Global Logistics, we would like to say thank you for the invitation and look forward to further cooperation.
