On Thursday, September 23, 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony for the logistics center in the »Weberschlag« industrial park in Weiherhammer took place. On the huge area, representatives from politics and the builder as well as the management of BHS Corrugated gave the starting signal for the construction project.
Until March 2023, a logistics center with a floor space of 26,500 m² as well as an office building with 3 floors will be built here. The realization of the buildings is carried out by the company GOLDBECK.
In the planning, special attention was paid to ecological and sustainable aspects. For example, an air-to-water heat pump is used to supply heating in the building. The entire hall roof will be fitted with photovoltaic modules to use solar energy to generate electricity. There will also be electric car charging stations in the employee parking lot.
The total investment volume will be approx. 38 million euro. The politicians present praised the professional planning of the construction project and highlighted the enormous development opportunity for the region.
With the new logistics center, BHS Corrugated's internal logistics can be even better coordinated; moreover, customers can be offered even more innovative logistics solutions.This is another important milestone in BHS Corrugated's mission to significantly increase the productivity of customers' corrugated plants while raising their profitability.
But not only customers will benefit from this project. Future-proof jobs will be created in a new and innovative working environment, in which we will above all also use and apply the know-how of longstanding employees.
